Hi there pet parents and pet lovers, I am Tracey Ordish DTC-CDT and I have over 7 years experience of working with dogs and over 10 years experience of being a dog guardian!
I am a Certified Dog Trainer and a Distinctive Dog Trainer in Southampton and I love to work using one to one dog training throughout each stage of their lives and with their passionate pet parents using kind, ethical, and compassionate methods!
I take a holistical approach to supporting your training journey as behaviour is the consequence of what lies beneath. Before we can modify behaviour, we need to understand where it comes from and why. When you learn to build a two way communication with your dog, your relationship can flourish!
"Behaviour alerts us to the emotions of the individual!"
"We need to understand their needs in order to help them!"
IMPORTANT : We do not offer quick fix solutions as most of the time these tend to be detrimental to your dogs health and go against our pledge to use force free methods.
If a dogs needs are not being met, you may see an escalation of behaviour as they are trying to communicate their need to you!
Take a look at the 'Hierarchy of Dog Needs' on the right to understand what we can do to help fulfil your dogs needs.
The 'Hierarchy of Dog Needs' was created by Linda Michaels M.A, Psychology and Founder of Do No Harm Training & Behaviour!
You have a wonderful time ahead of you full of love and companionship, but you have to put in some work that starts with building a trusting and safe relationship!
You have a baby dog living with you who needs you to understand what his needs are to be able to cope with living in a human world.
A puppy is like having a human baby and needs your help with toileting, teething, feeding, lots of sleep and rest time as well as many more, however there are obviously differences in how you go about it. They are a different species after all!
I am here to help guide you and your puppy through the challenges of puppyhood and beyond!
To note: My 121 Puppy Training is for puppies aged between 8 weeks and 5 months old. From 6 months old, your puppy will be entering their adolescent stage. This is covered under our Adolescent and Adult Dog Training Program.
I will guide and support you, and your new puppy, to learn the basic skills including how to understand puppy communication, their needs, navigating puppy biting, focusing, walking together, toilet training, recall, space, awareness and many more. As I am working one to one with you, I can tailor our sessions to suit your individual circumstances.
I use kind, ethical, compassionate and fun techniques that make training rewarding for you and your puppy!
You will have mentorship and support throughout your journey and onwards.
I will arrange a free no obligation Consultation Call with you to discuss your situation, to take some initial information and to see what support I can offer you.
If you wish to proceed further then the Initial Consultation will be arranged.
I will arrange an initial Consultation to assess the situation and provide helpful management and safety precautions. I will consult with you further on your puppies individual needs and will start some foundation principles of support.
Every situation is different so this assessment is vital to help plan the best support for you and your pup.
Following the Consultation, you will be sent a follow up email highlighting the discussion and plans for your support going forwards.
There will be three weekly follow up support sessions to give you a chance to start focusing on the training plan you were given for your puppy's journey.
Your pup will dictate the pace of the sessions depending on their emotional and physical capabilities.
Support will be there for you from initial contact and throughout via email, text, phone or Zoom if you have any questions or need clarification.
Relationships, both human and canine, work better together!
